While there are many portrait and even pet photographers out there, a horse is quite a different animal than a dog or a cat.
I have been riding since I was 10 (started vaulting at age 4), and know my way around horses. That means I’m confident interacting with horses and coaching them into the right position, know how to pose horses for the best conformation, and am familiar with the sequence of the footfalls in the different gaits.
While my style of photography is more casual, and focuses on the horse’s personality and the bond with the owner more than conformation, my experience with horses is definitely an asset.
